My iPhone 4 Experience So Far

To start off, I want to say that I have always wanted one of these phones since they arrived in Canada on the Rogers Network! At the time I was on Bell, couple months prior I renewed my contract with them and received my upgrade phone. I got the Samsung SPH-m610, which at the time was one of the most stylist and sleek/slim flip phones on the market. My previous phone before that one was a Samsung, and I never had any problem with it as a device, so I stuck with it for my next 3 year Ball-and-Chain contract! Well, Two months or so go by course, Canada will be getting bunch of smart-phones! iPhones too!?!

So there I was basically fucked over for this duration of the burst of "early adapters", specially when it came to getting an iPhone! I have always been one of those people who has wanted something first when it came to games/gadgets, only if they caught my radar though! So I basically had to wait it out, there was no chance I was switching over to Rogers. I have had Rogers phones long time ago and was not to pleased with customer service. Couple of my friends had iPhones so I could always check theres out and mess around with it. I have always been a fan of Apple products, the clean designs of their operating systems. Everything looks and runs so clean! Sexy!

So this year my three year contract was coming up and I was looking at getting a 3gs, Palm Pre, or BB Bold. The iPhone 4 was announced weeks after I realized that my upgrade was slowly coming up, they would start sending me pamphlets in the mail! "Upgrade To a Smart Phone Now!" Meh! I decided to look into the 4 and all its specs, read and watch on everything about it that I could! These phones in my opinion cost way too much if you want to buy them out, so your are stuck with them for three years or so! It was a big deal to me, I didn't wanna make a bad choice, plus I have waited two plus years to get one why not get one!?! I wasn't disappointed!

The day I went to get my phone I was so anxious, barely got any sleep the night before and was all wound up on getting this phone for some off reason as if it was Christmas morning as a little boy! I went to pick up my phone from our local mall, I was pumped! My friend worked there and had my phone waiting for me, he opened up the box and he took out the phone and showed me. I was amazed! Sexy as fuck! He put my screen protector on the front and suckered me into getting some cases off him, was a good idea cause i wasn't chancing scuff marks on the first day! I proceeded home and text some friends and sent some picture messages to see it in action. I went in my room and started typing in some contacts and numbers from my old phone, and getting rid off a lot of waste too! This took soooooo long to do, its like moving, I haven't done it much in my life but I fucking hate it!

The first two days was mostly downloading apps and getting my backgrounds and main apps that I knew I wanted on the device, my neck hurt so much! omg! looking down at that screen all day, was not a good idea. I basically got used to it, or I somehow just tried to give up on looking at down it so much and keep busy with other things. I started tweeting with my phone, I have always wanted to get into the Twitter world, but I thought it would so much better if it had it on the go! That's the whole point of it I thought! Gaming on the phone is different, I won't try to go off too much right now that's a whole separate blog post I believe! I tried many games, mostly free or what is offered for free that day! I tend to lean towards puzzle games and strategy games, the action games with analog on the screen I find hard to use and not as accurate as say my Psp.

I have had no problems with calls dropping and all that bullshit that people made a big deal about, the screen is so gorgeous! The touch screen is like no other! It responds one to one with what your fingers are suggesting. The speaker on it blares out beats and you tube crystal clear. I have tried Face Time calls with couple different friends who have the iPhone 4 and it worked perfect over the WiFi at home, quality of the image was clean and crisp. I also find myself reading a lot more cause of having the iPhone 4, the selection of books in iBooks is great. You can also look up comics readers and types of readers in the app store. I tend to go online and read some blogs, think help motivate me to start one myself! I downloaded apps to impress my family and show off some tricks and entertain them. I use the camera almost everyday taking pictures or using the video camera to film friends, cars, or anything out of the ordinary lol All in all my experience has been nothing but a sweet victory that I have been waiting to taste for three years, and it paid off!

  1. Looking to get a cell soon. Haven't really started researching yet. Cost is a factor too. Thanks for the review though. I'd be interested in what you're paying and what kind of plan you got.

  2. The plan

    100 mins anytime
free nights and weekends starting at 6pm
    call id/voice mail
    picture messaging
500 Mb data (doesn't seem like much, if you have WiFi at home/work your set. use that)
$50 thats the basic requirements (bell)

I added unlimited text for $15
So $65 bucks a month came out to, $72 something
note: didn't go over anything on bill
