I will try to be short with this, I swear. Last night my friend and I were chilling at my house scrolling through the Playstation Store, cruising the new demo lists that were out recently. We stumbled across a game called, "what the fucks this stupid game called?" I have to roll back my computer chair, grab my controller to scroll down to the title cause I can't remember what it is it to write about it! Thats how forgettable this title is! Oh yeah, the title..... Sengoku BASARA - Samurai Heroes. Uh huh. Like most demo titles is the Psn Store this didn't strike me is too crazy, Playstations extended Jap/korean developers come out with some crazy shit.
As i'm writing this I can hear the stupid music from the main screen going off, sounds like an off fake Street Fighter IV beat going on and on and on.... Oh My GOD! Anyways, last night I remember my friend telling me about how this game would be a mix of Devil May Cry game play, soon as I heard that it struck an interest to me. I have always been a fan of the over the top Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry series, and even Bayonetta! Sexy high speed action games that demand timing and precision to the max, endurance too! I had no patience with this game, so much that i played 20 mins of it, took some photos, and proceeded to hop on my computer and write about it.
It turned out to be what I fear the most in this type of game, which by the way is no where in the same Realm as any of the previous titles i mention!!!! It turned out to just be a another Dynasty Warriors clone, and when your trying to clone something like Dynasty Warriors you have to go way above what they have been doing so shitty for their last 20+ titles or so.... pure garbage! My first picture shows one of things I can't stand the most about these stupid games, enemies/AI standing around doing absolutely nothing! Nothing at all, matter in fact my next picture shows me blocking standing there in one spot. I proceeded and counted to almost twenty seconds before someone even tried to attack me.
These action games just consist of big scraps really, there is a boss and the end of the level and you have to reach him and defeat him! Through these levels it is just literally groups/mobs of warriors that see you, run up to you, and do nothing! I don't know what you have to do as a developer to CRANK up that AI in this game , but it needed it like "something fierce." That doesn't even describe it, in 2010. Its the basics! Any button mashing hippy could blast through this game in a matter of no time, and even then they would probably get burnt out and realize that they have been doing the same exact thing over and over! There is nothing to separate it from that comparison of Koei's Dyanasty Warriors series. The bad English voice overs, the maps, the style, and course lame Ai animations and movements. I just don't get it!!!! I really don't!!! How the fuck with all the endless knowledge and creativity in this world do groups of people always agree/pass shit like this to be made. Who invests in games like this ? Who are these people that sit around at their round tables like a scene out of a movie and take votes to pass this shit! Show Me!?!? No one is interested in this shit anymore, it was played out years ago!!! It's the little kids that don't know any better that get fucked around when it comes to quality gaming and being suckered for! This game probably retails close to $70, it's not worth .99 cents!! Matter of fact, just download the demo for FREE and you will get all you need there!! Your better off buying seventy .99 cent iPhone games, that would keep you far more occupied, like TIMES A THOUSAND! I will finish up with this, the last picture I photographed is me in a "Heated" battle with a mob of goons and my kick-ass ally(blue over his name). He is a giant Samurai dude that looks bad ass and has a huge sword with a spinning auger on it, sound like he could help me clear out the thousands of enemies I have to kill to advance?!!? right!?!? Nope! He does nothing, he stands around while taking random shots to the face every ten seconds or so!?!? That was the end of that demo for me!!!!! FML! DELETE!
